Google actively testing sms/mms in Hangouts

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this yet but get a pop up in Hangouts asking me to confirm my phone number through SMS text like 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I press confirm my number and then receive a text message in hangouts saying my phone number has been confirmed. Could hangouts with MMS/SMS be coming with KitKat? #fingerscrossed

I use hangouts daily. And mine only confirmed it Once..... the first time I installed it.... and thats it.
But I do have my fingerscrossed with you. I want google voice, SMS, MMS, and hangouts all integrated together.

Are you clearing your cache or signing out? It should only do that the first time you log in.
