    i received kitkat yesterday on my N4, and installed GEL this morning, but one thing bothers me :
    how does the "nearby places" function work?
    i try for example to type in "pizza" but nothing... and beleive me, there are pizza restaurants nearby :-p

    any help ?

    Has it ever worked? there was at least one occasion where it stopped working for a bunch of people.

    Just worked for me.

    Also open the dialer and check settings to make sure its turned on along with your location settings.

    i tried setting it to english US and it worked straight away, except i loose all my vocal commands in NOW...

    Sounds about right then. Really wish Google would speed that kind of stuff up. Put it this way, I'm in canada and switch everything to US on my devices to try to gain access to all the bells and whistles.

    You might want to turn on your Location Settings. That's what was wrong with mine.
