I get that they sold out, but it looks like most companies have just pulled the product page, and Amazon (who is usually good about putting up estimates on restocking items) doesn't list anything except the price-gouging marketplace items. Are they really selling so well that Acer is weeks (or months) behind meeting demand, or is there some other problem?

I'm wondering the same thing. AC review thed 4GB unit in December Acer C720 Chromebook review | Android Central and I decided that it would be worth paying the extra $50 for the extra RAM. At that time I was easily able to find the 4GB version on Amazon for $249, and the 2GB version was $199. But recently, all I could find is the 2GB version for $249. There are even multiple listings. It's confusing as hell.

Today, it just says "Item unavailable". Did Asus raise the price of the 2GB to $249 and drop the 4GB model? Hmmm... it looks fishy....

Amazon was selling refurbished C720 last week. Both 2GB and 4GB could be had for $189 (same price!). Maybe worth it to monitor for more batches of refurbished systems?
