Samsung' multitasking

Particularly on the S5, if I have the multitasking window enabled, will it reduce battery life (even when I'm not using it)?

Also as a side note, if I turn on power saver everytime I turn off the screen, does it save battery life?

Yes, everything eats battery, but the multi window will not take too much if one or both of the windows isn't playing video.

Power saver always helps, but no need to use it every time the screen goes off.
