Does Android OS allow you to set specific locations for "Music", "Ringtones", "Photos", etc.?
A technical question whose answer might take quite a while to piece together from various sources: does Android OS allows you to specify at the OS level folders where files by type will be stored?
That is, do apps ask Android OS "save this file to 'music' folder" or do apps ask for permission to access a hard device path or a general "file system access" permission?
Which is to say, does the user have control over where the OS looks for music / videos / ringtones etc.? I've never attempted to 'set' these values, and I'm wondering from the app developer perspective i.e. how an app requests access to folders where specific datatypes are stored.
Thanks in advance.
