Ok, I don't know what else to call it. When you first turn on your tablet after it falls asleep (hit power button), you have to swipe up on an essentially blank screen to get to the home page and/or apps. Not sure what the use is of this initial screen but I would like to simply turn on the tablet and get to my apps. Is there some way to turn off that initial page?

I am not speaking of the lock screen where you have to enter your pattern or code.

Thanks!

The "lock screen" does not necessarily have to have a keyboard for pin entry or swipe pattern; it is still a lock screen even if you don't lock your device. It is unlikely you can make it go away.

What device are we talking about? The major manufacturers implement these things slightly differently.

It is KatKiss custom ROM. Why would anyone want a lock screen if it's not necessary. Kind of like turning your TV on twice so you could watch a show, isn't it?

You should be able to do this. Go to settings, security, tap "Screen lock," and then choose "None".

I agree with you. I have gone back and forth on having this enabled. I don't use a pattern or code on my Nexus 6, which I know is not as safe. But it is such a pain to enter the code or pattern. Every. Single. Time. I guess when I upgrade to a phone with a fingerprint scanner, I may use that and get the convenience and security combined. Til then, though.

Oh, the use of the screen, if you leave it, is if you want your notifications on there at a glance (sounds like you have that option turned off, or just don't have a lot on your tablet)
