Notifications causing background audio to unpause

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S8+, running Android version 7.0. Every time a notification comes in, the streaming audio I have paused in the background starts playing again. This is happening with audio/video based apps, as well as through the browser. If I don't completely close the app or browser, whatever stream I was watching/listening too will unpause and begin playing after a notification arrives. I've googled today, and searched this forum, but haven't found anything yet. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
