I have a Huawei Honor 9 with Android 7.0, EMUI 5.1

All links I open in a webview window.
I have tried to turn off Google -> Search -> Accounts & Privacy -> Open web pages in the Google app
I have tried to set the default browser: Settings -> Apps -> Settings -> Default app settings -> Browser -> Chrome/Opera/Firefox etc.

BUT What's the point of a default browser when all links opens in a web view window anyway???

The default web browser is what is used to open links in an external app.

If the app you are using has the ability to view web pages in its own internal viewer, there will be no attempt to use the external web browser until you turn off the use of the internal web viewer. See the app's settings for this.

This is a video with the internal SMS app. Same thing happens in Textra (a better SMS app).
Same thing happens with most of the apps, inkluding my bank app.
There is no apps that opens links in the default browser. The only time I see the browser, is when I opens it myself.

Some apps include an internal browser and like to use it. Personally I prefer an external browser when possible.

For me, Textra opens URLs in my default browser (Firefox for me).

Twitter gives you a choice in its settings.
Instagram gives you a reopen option from within the internal browser.

Twitter:
Profile icon > settings and privacy > display and sound > use in-app browser

Instagram:
When clicking a URL, it is always opened in the in-app browser.
In the browser window > 3-dot menu > Open in xxx

The problem is in ALL apps, even my banking app, mail app which does not have any of these settings.
Where is the settings in the Gmail app. I can't find any!
And the Google Play app? I'm trying to open the link to producer's website, but it will not open in default browser. :(

Gmail:
gmail > settings > general settings > open web links in gmail

Google Play app: it opens my default browser (firefox), no settings to change it.

My email app (Aqua Mail) lets me choose between the internal and external browser.

My banking app does not use an internal browser.

Most apps do not have an internal browser, thus no settings for what to open.
