Hi everyone,

I finally managed to flash the ROM on my Leagoo T5c yesterday night, and on reboot, I got something of a scare when I was asked to enter the PIN for my SIM cards, and got the (good) PIN for what used to be SIM 1 rejected twice.

I entered the PIN for what used to be SIM 2 instead, and it got accepted; ditto the PIN for former SIM 1 on now SIM 2.

At this point, I must add that no, I didn't physically swap the SIM cards, so apparently, the chipset somehow inverted them after flashing the ROM.

Is this a common occurrence when flashing ROM in a dual-SIM Android phone?

HI,
I'm no expert, but the same thing happened to me when I flashed the ROM with the official image.
I did find also that the Malware /Trojan virus was gone from Default Home which was what I was trying to do in the first place. Also the camera settings have changed and only allowed for 5MP photos.
I'm still looking for a way to Root this phone and a good custom ROM. If anyone has any advice?

I'm "glad" to see I'm not the only one, but generally speaking, I'm really disappointed with Android in general, and not so much with the phone itself, I must say. The Leagoo's hardware is OK, and rather satisfying to use.

If I could (I know it's impossible, mind you), I'd install iOS on my Leagoo T5c, because right now, and after nearly two hours of tinkering, cursing and heartbeat raising, I finally got to connect to the Internet with my MacBook Pro, thanks to connecting my iPhone 6 to my PC, and bridging the PC connection to the Mac...

No other, and I mean NO OTHER, setup would work with the Droid, not WiFi, not USB tethering, not Bluetooth, not switching data from one SIM to the other, in case it was a carrier problem (it wasn't), NOTHING.

In my humble newbie opinion, Android is for ****, and only gets to reside in half the phones sold over the world because it's free.

Well, you do get what you pay for.

I'm appalled at the sheer number of complaints on forums like this one, about this or that not working, or stop working one day when all was hunky-dory the day before (a common occurrence in my case).

There is no consistency in Android, from one device to another (different hardware can explain that, TO SOME EXTENT), one version to another, even from one day to the next.

I'm not going to root my Leagoo, the way I've jailbroken iPhones, for example, because I don't think it's worth it: why go to all the trouble, just to change the color of the pile of **** residing in your phone?

It's just **** anyway.

I enjoy reading your posts even when you're ranting, very entertaining stuff lol. Even if you go back to an iPhone stop in and post abit, we'll miss you ;-)

I might do that, it'd be like visiting old college pals who stayed on campus after I left... :-D

All jokes aside, the learning curve in Android IS steeper than I thought, but without the benefit of rooting my phone (which, at the moment, seems impossible), I'm stuck with what Android has to offer, and that's, well, insufficient, but hey, don't lose sleep over this, OK...?

And as a reminder, the phone itself works just fine, thank you! No hardware issues of any kind, so far.

What is the version of the update you installed, when i checked ROM provider it showed that there was an update released on February and March but system update says mine is the latest. Also does your navigation bar show up blank when u boot up once in a while and does your apps all force close at once, once in a while

I actually flashed a new ROM I downloaded from Needrom (here is the latest; you must be logged in to download, but creating a new account is free and quick: https://www.needrom.com/download/leagoo-t5c/), because, like you, I was told that I had "the latest build already installed", or some such thing.

If you decide to flash that new ROM, make sure to also download the flashing tool they're offering on the same download page.

Went without a hitch on my phone, and the malware that was present in Leagoo's launcher is now gone.

EDIT: I haven't noticed anything wrong with the navigation bar, and my application don't need to be force-quit. Have you tried to uninstall then reinstall them?

You're right, I don't have that many apps on the phone, only the ones I really need on a daily basis, plus I'm not a gamer, so no problems there either.

All in all, I'm rather satisfied with it, on the hardware front anyway. I've already said all the bad things I had to say about Android, so I won't go into it again... :-p
