why is my tablet just not working like it used to?

Hi I have a few questions about my hipstreet pilot tablet...
Number 1)

I have been receiving notifications about a "firmware" update...
And when I click on it , and it starts but then a white bar pops up on my screen saying ("sorry firmware update has unfortunately stopped")
I don't know what to do about that...

Number 2)

Also for some reason my front facing camera has stopped working
And there is no option to switch to the front or back camera in the camera that's pre installed.
Could _YOU_ explain what I could do and what has actually happened.

1) Have you ever changed anything - installed a cusrtom ROM, rooted, anything like that? (That will prevent an update from updating.)

2) There won't be any choice if one of the camera modules went bad. The only solution is to have the bad one replaced. (There are 2 little plug-in modules, a front camera and a back camera, each completely separate from the other.)
