Where has Instagram's File Manager Gone?

Daughter has an S7, G 930T on USMobile. I did the OTA update to Oreo and updated her apps. Now when she clicks the plus symbol in Instagram to post an image, it calls the Android stock file manager instead of the Instagram App's interface (which supports multi-image tagging for upload). Very strange. Several re-installs, logged in and out of account, granted Instagram access to internal memory, camera, SD, etc through Oreo settings and re-booted but no change. Apologies if this was covered elsewhere, not clear how to view topic and thread tree on androidcentral beyond using search box. Thanks for your input and ideas.

1. The file manager it's using (probably the Samsung file manager) can be used to select more than one file - just long-press 1, then tap the others, and they all get selected.

2. As far as what Instagram is doing, and getting them to change it, you'd have to email them at android-support@instagram.com. But there's a May 29, 2019 update - have you updated since then? (There seem to be a lot of complaints about various things. It seems that once Facebook buys a service, its app quality starts going down, just like Facebook's app quality does.)
