Email Message to "Read Receipt"

Have the Flex 2 and just started receiving "confirm read receipt , yes or no" when receiving junk emails.
I have always used the standard email app which came installed.
Is there a way to remove this, not sure why I suddenly getting this?

The emails requesting those are either spam or phishing for info. They want you to respond so they can send more, as well as possibly call your number or text you more trash.

Weird, because normally all of these were going straight to spam, now coming directly to inbox.

There's really no good spam filtering for Android (or iPhone or Windows phones). And there's no email app I know of that allows you to trash any email requesting a read receipt. (POPfile is open source, so I'm waiting for someone to write something even close for Android.)
