Sorry to hear that. I saw you had commented on that previously and looked closely at mine. It does seem to be a little darker in that 1" area, but is dependant on the brightness setting, I've found. So unless I dink with the settings and look closely at an all-white screen, its a non-issue for me. Are you getting another, or getting the Play edition, or going elsewhere?
