Didn't see this posted anywhere yet, but when you sign up for a new Box cloud account using your LG G2, you get 50 GB free cloud storage for life instead of the 10 GB that the service normally gives you. I'm not a huge user of cloud storage, but I might have to start dumping photos and stuff there now. Sorry if this is something that is common in all new smartphones

Signed up through app. Then varified through email then went back to app to log back on. That's when it prompted the lovely upgrade to 50gigs

50 GB for life sounds great. I have 50GB on DropBox, but it expires next year (Samsung promo). I would assume that Box is a similar product (cloud storage of photos, files, etc.)?

Yeah they don't seem to be promoting the fact very heavily. The LG rep was in the store when I grabbed my G2. He was very happy that it's what I came in for and mentioned the Box promo and gave me a ton of LG swag.

I believe I read somewhere that if you simply log into your account from the Box app on your G2 you will get the upgrade.

Thanks! I got my free 50GB! Now the only question is what am I going to do with it? Aside from massive amount of storage, is it better than Google Drive?

Better? No I'd say. The mobile app leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion. Also, it doesn't include a critical feature for me, which is auto-syncing photos and videos. However, someone wrote an App that's available on the Play store that will do it to your Box storage which costs $2.

Just signed up and immediately received the 50gb upgrade verification through email. Yes, it appears the offer is good through Sept 30. One caveat that I ran across is on the free plan you are limited to 250mb file sizes, at least according to the documentation I have found so far.

Thank you so much for the valuable information. Transferring my camera roll from my iPhone to my new LG G2 has been quite the task. 50GB of cloud space will make that SO much easier. Can't thank ya enough. (I wish retail stores would share more information about things like these...)

They don't even know. I told the guy who sold me my G2 at an AT&T corporate store, who was more knowledgeable than most, and he said "oh really?". Failure on LG's part I'd have to think.
