You'll need an Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) adapter. Something along the lines of this.

Or you can get the netgear push to tv and use the miscast feature on the phone to stream it wirelessly. Works great.

I have used the Enable DLNA on the phone to stream music, photos and video on the phone to my DLNA capable TV and with Sony Playstation 3. It does not mirror the display or let me show Netflix, rented movies, etc. It only works with unprotected video I transferred to the phone or video taken with the phone. Control of the phone works with TV or Playstation remote.
I have a micro USB to HDMI MHL adapter to give that a shot.

No need for a MHL when you can get Slimport adapter. Doesn't require power. Plug into any HDMI input for instant mirroring of G2.

I've found that both ImediaShare and MediaServer are two great programs. I've used both and found that they can play videos beautifully via my Samsung F8500 plasma. In fact, I'm getting far smoother playback using this approach then I did with my Slimport. No wires, just launch the apps. I can shoot at 30fps and using the plasma's 'smooth' motion setting, get great smooth (almost 60fps smooth) motion. This way I can also get the added detail that seems to be there when shooting video at 30fps vs 60fps.

Okay a lot of different answers. Has anyone used any of these on this phone and actually got it to work?

^ Not sure I understand your question. If we posted a solution, we did get it to work.

MHL didn't work for me. Going to order slimport eventually.

What about chromecast? I'm thinking of getting it and was wondering if it would work?

Finally got the slimport (shipping took forever). When I first used it, when I connected it to the TV and played a video, the phone screen would go black and say "playing on external display" or something like that. But now, I can't get it to do that anymore. The video will play on both screens.

Figured it out. If you play video files from the Gallery, it displays the black screen. If playing from the File Manager, the video plays on both screens. By the way, I'm using the Patuoxun Slimport adapter. Works great so far.
