LG G2: Random Reformatting

My LG G2 (Sprint) just reformatted itself out of the blue...I just lost all apps/photos etc. I had control over phone the whole time and never asked or initiated a reformat. Not happy right now!

Two questions:

-Anyone else having this happen?
-Is there a way to recover photos etc?

Photos may be stored using Google Plus.

I wish I had the auto backing up of photos working before this...they did not make it to google account...lesson learned.

I had something similar happen where my home screen would just randomly revert to the stock settings. My shortcuts and widgets would be wiped and replaced with the stock layout, but it didn't delete any personal data. That was only one of the problems, though. Not even a hard reset resolved the issue and I had the phone for only 2 days. I ended up taking it back and getting a replacement.
