Why has my LG G2 gone white?

LG G2 has gone white

I have accidentally stepped on my phone this morning :-( The screen is now completely white and the edges are starting to turn black.

Can anyone tell me if I need to replace the LCD screen as I know this can be quite pricey with this model?

Alternatively, what else could have gone wrong with the phone and is it fixable?

The white screen means the back light is working but the screen is not able to "paint" the image on the screen. It is at least the lcd, but you could have damage to additional components.

The cost is relatively minimal to repair.
If you feel comfortable following this guide, go for it; otherwise you could send it to LG. Never had to use the screen repair places in the mall. YMMV.
