It just started 2 days ago out of the blue, my AT&T G2 started making these new notification sounds when I wake it up or click on some apps along with the notification sounds I had already assigned the task. The sound is not in the sound library on the phone either. This is confusing and goofy. Anyone else run into this quirk?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you get any system updates recently?

Not since September. And I'm apparently up to date.

What happens when you try to reassign the notification tones again. Do the new tones go away, or do they keep coming back?

They keep coming back and play right over the assigned ones. Even if I choose silent, they still go off.

Try booting into Safe Mode, which disables all 3rd party apps. If the tones go away, then some 3rd party app is the problem. If the tones persist, then something changed in the system software. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11127

No luck. I hadn't added anything new as far as apps go in a long time anyway. Even in vibrate only mode these new notifications bleeps happen. Goofiness, I say!
