The auto brightness used to work great. Now it always defaults to the lowest setting and never adjusts. Anyone else have this problem and how do you fix it?

Do you have it set to Auto? If not, then it shouldn't be defaulting. There may be something else interfering with it and/or asking it to re-adjust without you knowing. When this started to occur, do you recall installing an app or service around that time?

Have a screen protector on? Clear or matte finish? Could be the screen protector may be causing lift distortion and messing up the optics of the sensor. I mean, you see protectors cut around the front camera so not such a reach that it won't effect auto brightness.
