Notification LED doesnt work anymore?!?

I just recently got a G3 and all of a sudden, the LED notifications no longer work! It was working yesterday morning and by yesterday evening it stopped all of a sudden. I tried using light flow and light manager to get it working again but both apps do not work.. my G3 is rooted with stock rom and I want to do a factory reset to see if it fixes the problem, but will it be ok to do so with no problems? any help would be great!

First the obvious: It is checked on in Settings?

If yes and it still is not working, do a backup, take the file off the phone onto your PC, do the Factory reset, put file back on phone and restore from that.

yes ive checked all the settings about 10 times, rebooted, took the battery out. pretty much tried almost everything. I can just do a factory reset and not restore my phone right?

A Factory Reset does just that.
Puts it back to how it was out of the box.
It will erase everything on your phone.
Do an LG Backup, pull the file off onto your PC, reset, put file back on device and restore it from there.
