Given the amount of customization options for Android, I don't think this should matter?

Between launchers and custom icons, you can change just about anything.

Hell, I'm just happy they moved the 'clear' button on the notification panel to the bottom.

I have to agree to it you. With lg new skin, it is very similar to lollipop. Plus alot of Google Apps are getting the material design so you get some of the feel already. Loving the new Gmail, maps, updates

I will say that when you open up your recent apps, it's easier and more fluid to deal with, but that's about the only thing that's going for it, that I noticed. Maybe there's more under the hood, but hardly a ground-shaking update, in my opinion. To each their own.

Oh, there's a ton under the hood... Big camera and power management updates. I can already match most of the visual stuff with themes... The low level stuff though, that I can't duplicate.

The UI is window dressing.

I hate the circular toolbar icons with the new rectangular notifications - looks so wrong. Wish I could get rid of the LG toolbar, or at least re-skin it to show just the icon without the horrible blue/green circle.

So are you saying that you have 2 toolbars on your phone? Throw up a screenshot of what you mean, (because that's what I think you mean) If that's the case, that's good news for my G3, as my standard tool bar is removeable if I wanted more real estate.
