I had an HTC One S and loved the keyboard. I now have an LG G3 and the stock keyboard is ok, I have tried the Google keyboard, Go keyboard, and Swiftkey keyboard.

My question is, can I take the keyboard.apk file(s) off of my HTC and install them on my G3? I haven't rooted either phone.

Usually. Unless there's some API that's in the HTC ROM and not in the G3 ROM (very unlikely), the keyboard should work in the G3 with no problem. (You don't need rooting to install an apk file - that's how all apps are installed.)

You may need to root the htc ROM to access the app directory where the keyboard apk is probably stored.

You're probably right, as I couldn't find the keyboard apk. I did find the HTC Flashlight apk file, but when I tried to install it, I got a message the file couldn't install. Oh well. I tried.
