Where is the tabs in chrome beta on 5.0

Must be going mad, but since updated to 5.0 and latest chrome beta, I cannot find how to switch tabs in chrome beta mobile. You used to have the tabs at the top of the screen, but when I click a link and select open new tab, it just seems to disappears .... really confused

Can you still swipe left and right on the address bar to go through the different tabs?

Nope, they do not seem to appear. I long click a link, select open a new tab .. and in previous version (4.4.2 etc), you would get an animation of a tab being created, and would see it at the top .. and a small tab showing the number of tabs open ... now, it seems to just disappear. If I select the 3 dots at the top for the menu ..... I do get a "recent tabs" option, which allows me to show them .... but that seems a bit long winded to how I did it before

Try pressing the button next to your home key that brings up recent apps. Since the update to lollipop, mine are in there

Seemed to have found it .... , they have added a setting called "Merge Tabs and Apps" .. switch that off, and get the tabs back .. yay

Go into chrome settings and set "merge tabs and apps" off. It should be near the top.
