Update app frozen and OTA disabled and still receiving notice

I have my G3 rooted but just to run apps that need root. Not modifications passed that. I have froze some apps with Titanium backup including the LG software update app and disabled OTA updated in tue phone setting you access by dialing 3845#*851#. I still for some reason am getting a notification saying update has been downloaded and asking lf I want to update.

Why did this get dowbloaded when I turned it off and froze the app? What else can I do to disable this?

When you get the notification again, pull the shade down and long press the notification. This will bring up the app info button. Click on it, and then uncheck Show notifications.

That worked thank you. That was actually the Google play services app kind of weird..

Since that was connected to Play services, you may not see notices for app updates. Just an FYI.

I stopped system update notifications this way months ago and I still get Google app notification updates. The dial into menu and change the menu did not work for me.
