    Are you on software build V20e or V20h? From what I read V20h fixes the softkeys to Lollipop ones.

    Try seeing if there is another update. Also give booting in to recovery and clearing your partition cache a try.

    was showing up to date via lg support tool and when I came back after 15 minutes it was downloading the v20f update and now running v20f still have old nav buttons

    I think rooting is the only way. I use SoftKeyz application.

    Sounds like you might have to root it to get what you want.
