ok so now I cant get data on my lg g3 d855 with at&t . I have called their tech support to no avail . it was fine when I used a simm card from another phone.

Welcome to Android Central! That G3 is the international version, and according to these specs, isn't compatible with the AT&T LTE bands:

However, it should be compatible with HSPA+. Are you getting that connection?

Also, make sure your APN settings are correct: Programming non-AT&T devices with the correct APN and MMS data settings- AT&T Wireless Support

Your APN is probably wrong. I'll post the settings. You have to remove the spaces in the MMS and Proxy settings. If I leave the spaces out, it won't let me post it here because it sees it as a link and I can't post links yet.

Here:

APN = phone
MMSC = http: / / mmcs. mobile, att. net (remove the spaces)
MMS proxy = proxy. mobile. att. net (remove the spaces)
MMS port = 80
MCC = 310
MNC = 410
APN type - default,mms,supl,hipri
APN protocol = IPv4
APN roaming protocol - IPv4
