Why does my knock code keep being disabled on my LG G3?

The last couple of weeks my knock code keeps being disabled and changed to swipe. I never had this problem before and have had the phone for a year. I went into safe mode and it still did it so it is not a third party app issue. Tried contacting LG and they don't have a clue except lets send it to be repaired which the phone is working great otherwise besides this issue.

Are you sure that you dont have one of the smart lock features active. eg. trusted places/ devices

Mine just started this recently as well. I think that last security update might be the culprit. I don't remember it happening before that.
