Why won't my LG G3 connect to a public Wifi?

LG G3 won't connect to a public Wifi

I am able to connect to secured networks, but on the bus it always requires a password. The bus does not have a password (confirmed by the system admin for the bus company).

I have not been able to setup a connection without a password, the option is grayed out. Any ideas?

Happening to me as well in my LG G3... Can't connect to any free WiFi connection.
