Make the LG G3 rear camera app full screen???

How can I can I make my camera app preview/viewfinder for the REAR/MAIN camera full-screen with the buttons overlayed rather then on large black bars? I've seen it full-screen on youtube camera tests although their back button looks different (a curved arrow rather than a triangle) so it may be a software version thing.

Running lollipop on a G3 D855.

Welcome to Android Central! If the camera is set to 4:3 (the standard photo size), you'll have those black bars, because 4:3 doesn't match the screen's actual ratio. You should be able to change it to 16:9, which matches the screen's ratio (but this often ends up being lower resolution than 4:3).

If the resolution is set to be 10MP, you'll get the black bars.
