My phone is connected to wifi and sometimes doesn't load a page for a few seconds and I have to refresh in order for it work.

Also all my voip apps like Hangouts Dialer and Facebook Messenger don't come out clear when I'm connected to a call.

Do you have problems with other wifi devices on the same router?

There is definitely a Wi-Fi issue on this phone. LG refuses to answer anything about it at the current time.

Have you tried changing the channel on your router? Is not a fix, but it definitely helped me. Haven't had an issue since.

I noticed that my wifi calling feature no longer works since Tmobile pushed the update. Not sure if it is related.

So, I am on my second G4. First had touch issues. Couldn't turn alarm off in the morning by touching the screen. Wouldn't respond and ended up pulling battery to shut it off. So I returned it and my new one is much better in that category, but now I am experiencing serious lag on wifi. Email, web pages, youtube, etc. take forever to load. I have the G3 and a Samsung tablet and their pages load super fast. The weird thing is that the speeds are good using Speedtest.net app (once it loads). The ping is 25ms which isn't bad and my speeds are over 30 down/12 up. I turn off wifi and bam, pages load quick. Getting fed up with the little things here with this device. Love the display and camera compared to my G3.

    All,

I just applied the fix on this site

    http://phandroid.com/2015/05/13/comc...-lollipop-bug/

Amazing results. Without it, using the Comcast wifi, it took 33 seconds for the play store search for DNSet to load with images. With the DNSet installed, it is instant loading with images. My Comcast email even updates a million times quicker. We should make this a Sticky

As a Comcast tech I thank you. For the past few months I noticed issues with my nexus 6 and then the g4..
It automatically made a huge difference on the phone and I'm going to save this and share it with any customers complaining about WiFi and 5.0+

It's a Lollipop issue not a G4 issue. The app (DNSet) above is a fix.

I assume if I used DNset without issues I'd probably just screw everything up, right? I'm looking more for tweaking purposes than to correct a problem. I am not on Comcast.

I do find that out and about WiFi can be problematic, but I have thought and still think that's more crowded bandwidth than anything else.

Exactly. A friend with a brand new Nexus 6 months ago had the same issue with an enterprise wi-fi router.

Did you read the article? It's not just Comcast and not just G4. It's Lollipop.

You mean the article that specifically says:

"The exact problem is unknown, but we know it only affects customers when they try to use an Android 5.0 or higher device with Comcast gateways that use IPV6."

    Yes, I did.

So, I'll ask again. If I don't have Comcast, and since the DNSet app pre-dates the Comcast problem, I'm wondering if there is value added for folks not having the issues related to Comcast access points and Lollipop 5.0+

If I can get a tweak from the app, I'm interested.

OK I was wrong I thought I read it there but not the case. I have read it's not just Comcast. But don't remember where and not going to look for it. There are other threads here that have been around longer than this one about WiFi. Maybe you should check those out.

If you aren't seeing issues on your network I wouldn't worry about it. All the app does it change DNS servers. It does nothing fancy at all. Changing a DNS server can even be done by the router config but for most using that app would be the easiest. Out and about wifi will always be spotty and crappy. Companies aren't usually paying for good routers and modems for the free wifi.
