If you try to enter a passcode in to change those settings and you get it wrong 3 times in a row, the phone reboots lol.

Apparently it's to fix a reactivation issue. I wonder what else the update is for. May hold off on it in case it breaks anything.

Usually it's rolled out in waves, that way if something is wrong on a few have problem and they can stop the update, fix the problem and continue.

I received the notification for the update sometime last night. Now the question is do I or don't I? Nobody knows if this will break root.

I got a notification for an update yesterday. I didn't update yet. Are there details on what this update changes, fixes, adds or removes? I don't like performing updates like these without knowing more about them. A reflex from past horrors of updates gone bad and such requiring factory resets and the like. Windows and android both.

Heads up for Sprint users ( and all carrier versions really). This is a post by autoprime over on XDA. Looks like the update probably won't allow rollback so it's possible the root method that exists may not work after taking the update. Time will tell.

Having looked at the update I can confirm it does update the bootloader to that "1" version.. so as far as we can tell... you'd never be able to go back to "0" (ZV4). Unless LG messed up or missed a part to properly block antirollback/downgrading... antirollback is set.. checking with previous phones.. it is NOT set.. so we can only assume it's finally real. Once root come out.. some lucky tester can try downgrading in the name of science... see if he survives it (preferably someone with insurance.. or someone that works at a phone store that can swap it out for free).

I would try to avoid the update if possible. It's very possible people who updated will still be able to root/unlock in the future (if we even get an unlock)... but it's only 100% if you have not taken it.

Will not be installing the update, then. I really want to uninstall all this bloat and gain access to some features that I want. Thanks
