Double tap to wake not working on other launchers?

As I was settling into Nova launcher, I tested the double tap to sleep/wake on an empty area of the screen. Didn't work. Double tapped along the Notification bar. Didn't work.

Is it just me or does the feature only work on the stock launcher?

Summary:

• double tap to wake should be working, unless you've made changes to the lock screen somehow
• double tap to sleep by tapping a blank spot on the home screens requires an app (as noted in the thread)
• double tap notification bar to sleep works just fine

I've been running my phone like that without problem since day 1 (June 19 in Canada), although I can recommend the SGS app to help out touch sensitivity: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g4/541135-article-about-touchscreen-issues.html (The double tap to wake can sometimes be a bit finicky.)

I have both a custom lock screen and nova. With the work around provided you should be able to tap to lock within nova home screen. Tap to wake still works for me as it should. However tap to lock when in the lock screen does not.
