Hello - I just bought a US T-Mobile version of the LG G4 from a buddy of mines that works for T-Mobile and won it as a prize. He didn't get the unlock code from T-Mobile and I wasn't able to have any success either.

Does anyone know how to unlock it so I can use it with my AT&T sim card?? I tried theunlockingcompany.com but they said they were not able to unlock it unless I activated service with T-Mobile (T-Mobile said the same thing) which is pointless!

Well you can go to Walmart and get the $30 service plan. 100 mins, 5 GB's data, and unlimited texting. Then there should be an app on the phone called Device Unlock. Use that to unlock it. Just follow the instructions.

They have some new rules, you need to have 40 days of continuous service on the phone you want unlock, and should have paid off for the phone. Then you can use the T-Mobile device unlock app to request unlock code. Not very uncarrier in my opinion, if you paid the device in full I see no reason they shouldn't unlock it immediately but currently that's the rule.
