This has been an option on all my past Android phones, but my screen does not wake up when I receive a text. The notification sound and LED goes off, but that's it. Am I missing something?

What SMS app are you using?

Any SMS/MMS I get wakes the screen for me.

Make sure Settings > Sound & Notifications > Lock Screen is set to show all notifications. Make sure you haven't set the app-specific notifications to "None" for your SMS client (Settings > Sound & Notifications > Apps).

Lastly, check your SMS client (I use Chomp) to make sure notifications are enabled there. Chomp has a specific setting that says, "Screen Comes On" so that it will wake the screen when you receive an SMS.

I am using the built in SMS app and it wakes up my screen for an incoming SMS.

I'm using the stock app and I've checked all those settings (more than once). Really frustrating. Not too happy with this phone so far between this and terrible touchscreen issues.
