But Sony Z5 will be very expencive, and the Qualcom Snapdragon 810 chip overheats and had problems, I have read the Sony Xperia Z3+ uses the same chip and overheats, the Sony Z3 has a 9 rating by phonearena.com and the Sony Z3 Plus has 7,5 rating.

I had a G3 and I really liked it, not many complaints other than battery life was average. Then I switched to an S6, had it for a couple of months and ended up selling it. Even though the screen and camera were impressive, battery life just wasn't good enough for my needs, it made me so paranoid if I had to go out and the phone wasn't fully charged.

So before selling my s6 I did a lot of research (this was about a month ago) and I read a lot about the Z3 and Z3+. Ended up getting the Z3 because I didn't see any real upgrade on the Z3+ and besides I saw a lot of overheating complaints due to the 810.

And I have to say I absolutely LOVE this phone. I have no complaints whatsoever. Some people have complained about the camera but so far I've had no problem with it, it takes great pics for me. UI is basically stock Android, buttery smooth and the battery life is the best I've ever had on a phone. I don't usually let the battery drain completely, but in the beginning I did just to see how much I could get out of it and I easily got over 8 hours of SOT with 2 full days of usage. So safe to say I was truly impressed.

As far as the screen, it's very bright, indoors I usually have it at about 25% and outdoors I slide it up to about 60%, maybe a little more if it's too sunny, but I've never needed to take it up to 100%.

I can't say if it's better than the G4 or not because I've never had the G4, although I don't doubt it's a really good phone since I liked the G3. So I can just tell you about my experience with the Z3, so far no regrets at all

I really think the Z3 and Z3+ are very good devices. But I got the G4 for the camera. I think I'll switch to either the Z5 Premium (for the larger screen). 4K is absurd and I don't want it, but, from what I read, it'll stay at 1080P unless an app needs 4k! Hopefully there will be an option to FORCE 1080P . If there is, I'm sold on the Z5 Premium. Then there is the Lumia 940 XL, which looks very cool as well, even though it's windows phone. Hmm.... Exciting times. But regardless, I think Sony takes care of its devices more than other OEMs.

I have the G4 and love it. I dislike the design of it, but the UI is fluid, battery is more than suffice (but I know it can't compare to a Z3/+), and its camera is superior to any other smartphone from this generation, even though Samsung fans will rant now.

    I love the G4. It's a very good device

Due to various problems with the G4, I would suggest you purchase a Sony phone.

Z3v (Verizon variant) has fantastic battery life. Device to me is a tad bit bulky, but display was great and the camera was solid from my time with it.

I just read that Sony is telling people that their completely waterproof phones (Z3 - Z5) should not be used under water!

I'm sure they're both great phones. I have the G4, so I would recommend it, pretty much like everyone else here. You should go to a store, try them both out and choose the one you like the best.

Is the LG G4 button on the back comfortable to push with one hand? And how is the screen readable in direct sunlight?

Totally and easy to read if you have it on auto brightness which will detect you're outside and boost the brightness on its own. The only issue is if I have it in my pocket and then take it out to RECEIVE a phone call, the screen is already on (duh, because it's showing you the number and contact), but it takes an extra 2-3 seconds to auto-brightness up because you're outside! The opposite always works: when the screen is off, turn it on, and it autos to daylight mode really quickly. I don't even notice it having to boost up, it just does it right as the screen turns on.
