traveling to ireland. do i need to take a transformer, or just the adapter to charge phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Virtually all chargers packaged with devices these days are compatible with both 110V and 220V outlets. Look carefully at the fine print of your charger--if it says 110-220V, then you don't need a voltage converter. You might, however, need a simple plug adapter to fit the outlet.

This is about the cheapest adapter there is, and it should be all you need. (If you don't have Amazon Prime, buy something else you need to make up $30, or the shipping will be more than the adapter.)
