Default Text app not default for all contacts????

I've got an LG G4 on T-mobile, and I recently got the update to Marshmallow, which is fine, but now I'm having a problem.

I use Handcent/Next SMS as my default text app, and for 98% of the people I text, it works just fine, but now, for two people(that I know of), it....doesn't work?

I can send them messages through next SMS, but when they reply, it goes through the default Android messaging app. The notification goes through the Android app, and the actual contents of the text as well. It does NOT show up in next SMS(it just looks like I've been texting myself.) I already have Next SMS set as my default and I uninstalled updates from the Android app, but that didn't make any difference. I don't know what's going on, and I don't know how to fix it, but I am getting *really* frustrated. I don't want to use the Android app....that's why I got the 3rd party one.

Please help.

Please? I literally joined the site for help because this is so frustrating and Google isn't giving me any solid answers. Any help you all have would be greatly appreciated!

Try this here and see if clearing any defaults of the Base Android "Messaging" app help and then going to the other apps you like and see if the defaults are correct for them
