Why is my LG G4 nkt recognising my new battery?

[Android Central Question]

I bought a new battery identical to my original one. When I tried it, it gave well. But when I tried charging the phone went off with the message "invalid battery, shutting down".
I tried charging the phone when off but it still gave the same error of invalid battery.
But with the original battery it works fine. I bought a new once because the original is bad and it drains so fast, maximum 2hrs if I don't use it and 45mins if I use it for games or watching videos or anything.

A bad battery, perhaps.

Welcome to Android Central! Where'd you buy it from? The battery might also be counterfeit. Ask the seller for an exchange or a refund.
