Green LED misbehaving

I have an RS6899 that I am currently using with Verizon service. It is NOT rooted. The green notification LED doesn't work reliably. It did when I first got the phone last week. But now that I've customized it, I see it briefly once in a while. I have the LED turned on in settings. The green light is physically functional. Do not disturb is not on, but is scheduled for night time. The only 3rd party app I use is Buzz Launcher. Any ideas?
