When I enable the camera shortcut (two presses on the volume down button) it unlocks not only the camera app but the entire phone, by-passing the fingerprint that I otherwise require to unlock the phone. I can then get from the phone app to the home screen and from there to anywhere I like. This is obviously a massive security hole. Is there any way to keep the shortcut, which is rather useful, without compromising the security of the whole phone?

I did speak to LG technical support today, but they were pretty clueless.

maybe you can try adding your shortcuts then change the setting back to 'Pattern' or 'Smart Lock' method. This will allow you to have a secure lock screen and the apps shortcut at the same time. I think this is the best if you want to keep the shortcuts and have a secure phone at the same time. Otherwise, I would advise against using the shortcuts.

That makes sense. I find the fingerprint so convenient that I may have to do without the shortcuts. It's a silly design decision unfortunately.
