Anyone have their G6 just stop working? Can't power it on and doesn't see the charger plugged in. Tried different chargers and they all work fine on my S8+ and Pixel. Looks like I'll have to do a warranty exchange. What a buzz kill.

That sucks. I had my original Pixel XL die on me one day. I rebooted it and it never turned on or showed power again. I had to get it exchanged by Google.

Yup tried that. Nothing. I already called in for a warranty replacement so I'll have my new device tomorrow.

By any chance, did you get an assurance that it will be a brand new phone, or will they pull the "like-new" line? It may be too new a model to have shelves of refurbished available, but it always irks me that I must inherit someone else's problem unit when I invoke the warranty replacement (at least with VZW). I've had two occasions over the years when the issues with the 'new' phone were worse than the one I was returning.

I honestly didn't bother to ask. It was shipped to me in a standalone package so I'd assume it's refurbished. I have never had any issues with refurbished devices from AT&T they still look brand new and I typically never have any issues. However, the device I'm replacing that died on me was an Insurance replacement which they sent me a brand new phone. So go figure. You can get a lemon weather it's brand new or a refurb which is why it doesn't bother me.

What do you think they do with phones returned in the 14 day window just because someone didn't like it? They can't just throw away a $700 plus dollar device because someone wasn't happy with it, it becomes a refurbished. Even most insurance companies are using refurbished phones, kinda sucks, but having worked at Verizon I know at least 95% of them are as flawless as a new phone.

What kind of testing do they do with the returned phones to ensure that they are truly "like new"?
