I have had the S8+ since launch in the UK. It is stunning but the fingerprint sensor has become more annoying with time so after having had a brief trial on the KeyOne I sprung for a G6 on Friday.

    Like

    - Feels nice in the hand
    - Battery life. Early days but for real world use it feels better than the S8+. Drains slower in standby for sure and yesterday with just light use throughout the day I was impressed with how it held up especially as Androids often take time to settle, it has a supposedly less efficient processor and I also use the BB hub and AOD too which can suck some power. Maybe this is an LCD vs AMOLED thing I don't know?
    - Less bloat and what bloat is there can mostly be disabled or uninstalled
    - Dual camera. Like like like
    - Fingerprint. Easy to find and quick. I do still prefer it on the front though TBH

    Dislike

    - Feels laggy at times. Has settled down a bit but one example that does jump out is the delay when you close all apps, along with the message!
    - Power button on the back
    - The Samsung is more of a looker for sure, but then I already knew that.

Overall though, very very nice. Still working through everything but I think the S8+ is going on ebay this week.

Welcome to the LG G6. I had an issue with lag at first but I did a factory reset and reinstalled some and left most of the blow off because it gave me the option to reinstall it or not. I chose not to. Quick memo is a standby battery hog so consider removing it if you can or disabling it and save your battery some more.

I had the S8+ but got rid of it. I would have very much preferred the G7. The shape of button placements of the S8+ was a deal breaker. Holding and typing on the curve screen was annoying, the phone was way too long in shape for my preference, and just overall didn't like it. The G6 has a much better look and design, you can actually install a screen protector, which is very hard to do in 2017 with curved phones nowadays.

Edit: I meant G6 lol, wouldn't mind the G7 either.

I agree, the flat screen was one of the main reasons I chose the G6. I didn't even consider the Galaxy S8 as I knew how much of a nightmare it would be to fit a good screen protector.

I also happen to prefer the IPS LCD sceen over the amoled of the S8. I suffered screen burn on my S6, and with the move to virtual buttons I knew this could be an issue moving forward.

Quick memo is one of the few apps that I cannot uninstall or disable and package disabler pro is Samsung only it seems.

I too prefer a flat screen, you lose some useable screen with the curve too, also one thing that a lot of people, overlook is that the screens on the S8/S8+ are narrow e.g. the 6.2" screen on the S8+ is actually slightly narrower than the 5.5" iPhone 7+. Not a big deal but categorising screens in terms of inches is maybe not giving the full picture. I also think
that Samsung have gone curve only to support their bezel free USP, fact is there is a bezel but the curved screen hides it well.

Personally I have not bothered with screen protectors for years, my G6 though comes with a nice one already fitted!

I disabled Quickmemo+ using the following app.

You don't need root but you will need to enable adb permissions for the app. There are instructions at the following link.

    Welcome.

I love the power button on the back. I've had it since LG first implemented it. That in conjunction with the tap on and tap off feature is killer.

TBH, I prefer my button on the top. I had an old HTC One V and that phone was dope. I just don't like having it on the back for whatever reason, idk
