Touch/knock doesnt work to let me pattern code in

I have touch button set, the knock, and the pattern set. Occationally, a touch or knock wakes up the screen, but doesn't let me in to do the pattern. I have to reboot.

Are you using a screen protector on your phone? Sometimes a very thick one can affect touch sensitivity.
