How to enable push notifications on AOD

Hello, is there a possibility to enable push notifications while using AOD from apps like Messenger so that they wake up the screen and allow me to view the message on lockscreen? At the moment I just get notified on AOD but can't see the message. I'm on Android 7.

No, the AOD will not display anything but the icons.

There is a thread on xda that seems to use tasker to turn on AOD only when a new notification comes in, and leave it off otherwise. Using similar tactics in tasker you might be able to DISABLE the AOD when the notification comes in and then enable it again whenever it makes sense (after a few seconds?).
