A couple days ago I noticed all my pictures (not to mention the live view while taking pictures) were coming out darker than usual. I just found out the culprit.
A while back I used manual mode and turned down the EV on purpose. It appears that this was affecting auto mode as well.
Interestingly, I can't repeat this by trying, although the EV setting is at least remembered in manual mode now, where it didn't seem to be before.
