Launch Calculator and Countdown Timer from locked device

Hello,

I've just parachuted myself out of the Apple walled garden and enjoying the Android experience.

One feature I liked on my iPhone was being able to launch calculator and countdown timer even which device was locked. Any ideas how I can do this on the G7?

You can go to settings > general > lock screen and security > customize lock screen > shortcuts. You can add or remove up to five app shortcuts.

I've already done this but when I try to launch the calculator it asks me for my PIN. On the iPhone I could use the calc without my PIN. The other issue is I can add the Clock app as a shortcut but I want to go directly to the Timer.

Any ideas?
