LG G8 and Samsung Watch

Hello all. Newb here to the forum. Me and my family have always owned Android phones and Tabs. I got a Samsung Watch for Christmas from my wife SM-R800. It's pretty cool. It is a WiFi/ Bluetooth only. Not cell capable. Anyways, Samsung states I can make calls over Wifi. I've turned it On, on the watch and its connected to my home Wi-Fi. When I place a call it wants to connect via Bluetooth. I'm guessing I need to turn some kind of feature ON, on the phone. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated. I can try and find a Samsung wearable forum and pose the same question. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
