LG G8 Bluetooth -while connected to BT the phone itself makes no audio ques

[Android Central Question]

I just purchased the LG G8 2 days ago and I love it BUT, my normal day is wearing a Bluetooth headset around my neck all day long. I only put the earbuds in when a call comes in or if I am listening to music. I upgraded from LG G6 and I am shocked to find that the G8 no longer sends sound (Ringtones nor Notifications) to both the phone and Bluetooth. So if an email, text, IMs or what not comes in and I have my Bluetooth headset connected and on my neck I have no idea it came in because the earbuds are not in my ears. If a call comes in my headset does vibrate but its I still can not believe this. I called LG support and although the gentleman had to look it up, he finally came back and said that he was sorry but there is no way to do it unless you disconnect the Bluetooth? That is just crazy to me.
Can anyone else confirm you are seeing the same thing? Is this a LG G8 issue or a newer Android OS issue?
