How can I stop my LG phone from lowering the volume when the headphones are plugged in?

It's a "safety" feature.

When I plug in the cable to my aux jack in my car radio, the phone automatically drops the volume from 100% to 75%.

(Then it talks down to me when I raise it again to 100% that "listening to music too loudly for long periods of time can damage my hearing." As if it knows what level the music was recorded at.)

Is there a setting to stop this? Or an app that will prevent / correct this?

I can't say i have heard of anything to "correct" this feature but most custom ROM remove it. So I would guess root is needed to effect it.

Welcome to the forums. The only way I know that can possibly change this is to root the device, and there may be an Xposed framework module that can alter this.
