Sprint optimum s 2.2.2

Forgive me if it is double post but I have been looking for all over to get portable wifi work again but no success. firs when we got the phone it had 2.2.1 and and hotspot widget was working fine but now we have accidentally update the phone and it is no longer working. I have tried ginger break 1.2 it reboots the phone as it should but wifi network is still not available.
Please advise Thx

First thing to do is to determine if you are rooted.

If not, root using gingersnap (this is the method I prefer for this device)

Second, I can not speak for sure as to whether or not the tethering widget works on 2.2.2. (I am assuming you are talking about the one developed by Muller)

If you are, try going into settings/manage applications/(the app or widget you are using)/
force stop and clear data

There is an app created by Muller, Lemons and Baxton that works perfectly on this device. If you need help finding it just let me know.
